New Album Release! 'Last Sunset' by Nicolas Meier Infinity Group!

'Last Sunset', the latest album from Nicolos Meier's 'Infinity Group' is out now on all streaming services! This album's very exciting for me because the 'Infinity Group' on this album is made up of two rhythm sections; Gary Husband with myself - and Vinnie Colaiuta with Jimmy Haslip! It's like I'm in a Holdsworth-alumni sandwich!

I've been playing with Nicolas since 2007 in the metal band Seven7, but he's an exceptionally versatile virtuoso player that specialises in jazz and has a huge amount of world-infuenced jazz fusion solo albums, which it would worth checking out. He's also a great fretless guitar player and spent time touring with Jeff Beck, for whom he originally wrote the songs on this album but they were never released so he's re-recorded them now as a tribute to Jeff. I also played some fusion trio European shows with Nicolas in 2023 supporting Steve Vai!

I used my Carillion twins on the album, playing fretted bass on the tracks Plan 9, Strange Sensations and Blasts from the Past, and played fretless on the track Bosphorus. I finished recording my parts for the tracks in December 2024. This one's more of a rock album, following along with the guitar riffs, but the tunes and overall musicianship are great fun!
